Stage 18 sees the Beacon of Harmony travel from Signature in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire to Amersham A Cappella in Amersham, Buckinghamshire for an evening with Amersham A Cappella, Signature and Harmony Inspires.
Here’s what Amersham A Cappella had to say about their time with the Beacon:
Dressed in a carnival of red, white and blue colours, the ladies of Amersham A Cappella welcomed groups from Signature Singers and Harmony Inspires for a fun filled evening to celebrate LABBS 40 year anniversary and to ceremonially pass on the scroll from chorus to chorus. Our lovely chair Suzy Hyde welcomed our fantastic regional rep, Jean Olman and also Lesley Maitland, Chair of Harmony Inspires and Sue Hayes, Chair of Signature singers.
We sang a profusion of Polecats, including some of the newer ones, under the expert direction of Helen Lappert, who improved our performance of all of them. This included everyone coming up with some unique and hilarious choreography for the new tag written by Delyth Knight – See the video on our facebook page!
We watched performances from Dreamoniques a collaboration of two quartets, The Dreamas and the Harmoniques from Harmony Inspires and another from the gold medallist quartet Noteorious, whose beautiful rendition of Goodnight my Angel reduced a few people to tears (in a good way!!)
We also celebrated in the best way possible – with CAKE! A fantastic replica of the scroll with all three chorus’ names and logos recreated in sugar, surrounded by 40th cupcakes made by the talented Tina James and our very own delicious gluten free ones made by Nicky Adams.
It was an evening full of laughter that reminded us why we all do this fantastic hobby – to share the love of singing and make new friends – we can’t wait to see everyone again in Harrogate!
HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY LABBS!
